The immediate goal of the Society is to foster a sense of community for all those individuals who share a passion for the Blues and/or for the many genres of music based on the Blues.  The Society should then be able to represent and serve the community by

1) Organizing and promoting Blues music events;

2) Sponsoring workshops, seminars and other educational events on the performance, history and influence of the Blues;

3) Encouraging shops to carry a wider selection of Blues recordings;

4) Advocating the inclusion of Blues and other related music forms in radio play-lists;

5) Facilitating the creation of a vibrant network of musicians who play the Blues; educating artists on the record industry and music promotion, and providing promotion and recording pathways for local blues artists and,

6) Inspiring young musicians to play the Blues.
